Shell is one of the many tools developers utilize on a daily basis to work their work easier while the terminal opens up a window and lets a user interact with bash.
Theoretically shell is just a set of programs that takes instructions from a keyboard when punched and sends it to the operating system to perform.In Linux we have Borne again shell,abbreviated as Bash,Ksh,Zsh and tcsh.
